Meet Jacob!
I’m a proud husband and father of three, and the owner of Servant’s Heart Handyman here in Des Moines, Iowa. My journey into the trades began early — learning alongside my dad how to change light fixtures, make repairs, and take care of our home.
I continued developing my skills through the Boy Scouts, completing my Eagle Scout project which involved carpentry, painting, and leading a team to serve others well. Those early experiences shaped both my craftsmanship and my commitment to doing things the right way.
In recent years, I’ve renovated three homes for my own family expanding my experience in drywall repair, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and practical home improvements. In 2020, I stepped away from a career in healthcare administration to care for my firstborn during the pandemic, and I’ve been a stay-at-home dad since.
Now, as my children begin school, I’m returning to the hands-on work that has brought me the greatest professional satisfaction: serving homeowners with reliable, detail-oriented craftsmanship.
The name “Servant’s Heart” reflects my desire to model my work after Christ and St. Joseph — with humility, diligence, and integrity. Whether the project is large or small, I strive to treat your home with the same care and attention I give my own.
